Happy Turkey Day!
Today was Thanksgiving here in the US. Machiko made her first ever Thanksgiving dinner (all by herself!) and it was nothing short of AMAZING! A small size turkey, french-style mashed potatos (potato purée), mixed green salad, lan assortment of veggies, white rice (had to represent Japan), apples cuts, fresh-baked bread rolls, and my favorite, pumpkin pie (with hand-made crust and her own whip cream!). If this was her first attempt at a traditional Thanksgiving holiday dinner, then I can’t wait for the 4th or 5th as she starts adding new dish spcialities every year!
Today also marked the first time that we did a Skype video chat with myfamily back in Los Angeles. It was really great to see the whole family together. Even better though, was for them to finally see Adair Kyoko’s cuteness live on video. She was a bit tired for some of pre- and post-dinner conversation (as we were three hours ahead of the West Coast), but she still put on a show. Can’t wait to see them all come December, as we will be in LA from the 20th to the 27th for Xmas vacation.
